NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.
During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.
You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

Scripture (SRE) and Ethics (SEE) at Pacific Palms Public School
Each Friday at Pacific Palms Public School, Scripture or SRE and Ethics or SEE Lessons are run for 30 minutes.
Scripture Lessons are carried out in two groups and taught by trained teachers. Lessons in the following religions are offered to all students: Catholic and Christian Combined. Students are placed in a Scripture Class according to the choice their parent/carer made when they enrolled.
Ethics Lessons are offered out in stage groups and taught by trained teachers. Students practise and improve skills in critical thinking and ethical reasoning to develop a life-long capacity to make well-reasoned decisions, discussing age-appropriate ethical issues with peers in classes impartially led by trained volunteers.
